Spot info Rittner Horn - Villanderer Alm
Altitude: Approx. 2,260 m above sea level Wind directions: Primarily northwest to east – with thermal influences and strong high-altitude winds. Kite-friendly in all wind directions The Rittner Horn above Bolzano is a diverse snowkiting spot with spectacular panoramas of the Dolomites and the Sarntal Alps. The Rittner Horn is part of the largest contiguous snowkiting area in northern Italy. This area stretches from the Villanderer Alm in the north to the Rittner Horn in the south – an impressive distance of approximately 12 kilometers. The expansive plateaus, open space, and consistent winds make this area a true paradise for snowkiters – with countless opportunities for long treks, extended tours, and unlimited freedom in the snow. The wide area and open terrain make the spot suitable for both advanced kiters who appreciate large areas and a variety of winds, as well as ambitious beginners who are already confident in handling a kite. Character: Under the right conditions, the Rittner Horn offers strong, consistent winds and ample space for long trekking runs and high-altitude flights. The expansive plateaus above the mountain station, where untouched snow is often found, are particularly attractive. Accessibility: The Rittner Horn cable car from Pemmern takes you comfortably to the mountain station. From there, you can reach the snowkiting area in just a few minutes on foot or with a short climb.

Spot Info – Puflatsch / Seiser Alm Altitude: approx. 2,100 m above sea level Wind directions: south to west to north – all kiteable wind directions, thermal influences. ⚠️ Important note: Snowkiting on the Seiser Alm is tolerated, not officially designated. Please respect the spot rules, nature, and other winter sports enthusiasts. Responsible behavior ensures access to this unique area for all of us. The Puflatsch spot on the Seiser Alm is one of the most beautiful and accessible snowkiting spots in South Tyrol. Thanks to its wide, open spaces and consistent winds, it is ideal for beginners as well as advanced snowkiters seeking relaxed sessions in a breathtaking mountain setting. Accessibility: The Seiser Alm cable car takes you comfortably to the high plateau. From there, take the Puflatsch lift and then keep left towards the "Hexe" drag lift – that's where the snowkiting spot is located.
